38th Annual Celebrations – Day 1


The Annual Day Celebrations provides a platform to the creative geniuses of our school, and at the same time gives an opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a huge audience .

The School Prayer

Vidyatree Modern World College celebrated its 38th Annual function amidst great fanfare and exuberance.  The students showcased their versatility and creativity through plethora of cultural programs. The inaugural lighting of the lamp ceremony was performed by Founder Sir Mr. Rakesh Kapoor . Day one of the function began with the students of senior classes demonstrating their creativity and originality by exhibiting various programs. The Program began with the school prayer. The perfect balance and the development of the body and mind was shown by the tiny tots of the school who displayed scintillatingly synchronized Yoga postures under the mentorship of their coaches.

An incredible conversational skit in English, Hindi and French showcasing the profound dexterity in these languages was performed by the students of the middle school. The Annual Achievement Report was presented by the Director, Mr Siddharth Kapoor, who elaborated the recognition and milestones reached by the students to bring laurels. A power point presentation was shown to highlight the steps taken by the school to bring out the best out of every student. Role plays of Shakespearean characters, skit on the side effects of social media and dance performances of the students enthralled the audiences. On the occasion, Vote of thanks was extended by the Principal Ms Meena Kane who congratulated every student, faculty, parents and the management for their unwavering support and contribution in making the programme stupendously successful.

Distinguished Alumni Award 2016


'The Distinguished Alumni Award 2016' has been conferred to Pankaj Agarwal, class of 1992, in honour and recognition of his significant contributions to society and accomplishments that have brought credit to the college.

The Award

The school was founded  in 1979 and the school’s first class XII graduated in 1992. It has been 24 years since then, and hundreds of students of the school have graduated and went on to succeed in life. These alumni are in leading positions at some of the best companies of the world or are entrepreneurs running their own successful enterprises.

This year the school has instituted the Distinguished Alumni Award to honour and recognize Vidyatree Modernites for their achievements in life. During the Annual Celebrations, on 18 December, 2016, VMWC proudly conferred the first ever Distinguished Alumni Award in the history of the school to Er. Pankaj Agarwal, in honour and recognition of his significant contributions to society and accomplishments that have brought credit to the college.

Pankaj Agarwal runs his own university and is the Chancellor of Shri Ram Swaroop Memorial University. Read below for a summary of his achivements.

Pankaj Agarwal was overwhelmed to receive the honour in the presence of his teachers. He was thrilled to share the wonders the school had done to his confidence and personality. He said, “I loved coming to school and always looked forward going to school and learning. It was indeed fun and the best part was teachers were equally or may be even more excited to share their knowledge with us.” He also added, “The real meaning of Know Thyself (the motto of the school), I learnt and understood here.” He thanked the school, the teachers for laying the foundation for whatever he has achieved in life.

Passing on the light

On this momentous occasion a new tradition was established called ‘Passing on the light’. As a mark of passing on the values of the school that were instilled in Pankaj Agarwal, the oldest Vidyatree Modernite, he lit the candle of Aradhya, the youngest Vidyatree Modernite, accompanied by the school Head Girl, Ayushi Sinha.

About Pankaj Agarwal

Er. Pankaj Agarwal, VMWC class of 1992; Chancellor, Shri Ram Swaroop Memorial University

Pankaj Agarwal, was an all-rounder in school, avid cricketer and the school Head Boy.

He graduated from the school in 1992, and went on to graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, as a Gold Medalist. With a vision of bringing world class engineering & management education to the youth of Uttar Pradesh he laid the foundation of Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges (SRMGPC) in Lucknow in 1999.

Making inroads into the domain of software technology was the next landmark and led to the launch of software companies STPL (Shri Ramswaroop Technosol Private Limited) in 2004 and SRDT(Shri Ramswaroop Digital Technologies) in 2009, offering digital technology solutions in media, entertainment, education, enterprise content management and e-publishing.

Determined to usher global standards in higher education, Pankaj Agarwal, established Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University in 2012.

He has been bestowed with numerous awards in the last 24 years, some of them are:

  • Young Entrepreneur Award” by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE)
  • He was recognized as “Changemaker” & “Trailblazer” by the Jagran Group.
  • He was felicitated for “Excellence in Education” by the Times of India Group and was awarded by the Hon. Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Naik.

Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University has been recognised as the “Best Innovative University” in the 9th ASSOCHAM Higher Education summit 2016

Vidyatree Modern World College (previously The Modern School) had its 37th Annual Day Celebrations on 18th December, 2016 in its school campus. The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Rakesh Kapoor, Director at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute and the Guest of Honour was Prof. Alok Dhawan, Director at Indian Institute of Toxicology Research. The Chairman of the School’s Advisory Council Hon. Justice D. K Trivedi (Retd.) presided over the event with Dr. Nitya Anand ji and the founder of the School Mr. Rakesh Kapoor. The Event was well enjoyed by the Guests. They were amazed to see the confidence and appreciated the children for their efforts and hard work and congratulated the school for the improvement they have brought in the Children.

The School established and gave away for the first time ‘The Distinguished Alumni Award’ to Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Chancellor Ram Swaroop Memorial University. Pankaj had graduated from the school in 1992 and went on to be a Gold Medalist from IIT-Kanpur. Pankaj was overwhelmed to be in in presence of his former teachers including the Founder of the School Mr. Rakesh Kapoor. Even 24 years later he was thankful to the school for the values and confidence instilled in him.

The Principal, Ms. Meena Kane, presented the Annual Report of the school which showed the excellence school has achieved in fields like creativity, academics, intelligence and confidence.

The Annual Day comprised of 22 Cultural Programs and kids from Nursery till Class 11th. The programs were highly appreciated by everyone. The wonderful and much liked play based on ‘Chanakya’ was performed by the students of Grade 6th to 8th under the guidance of School’s Dramatics Teacher Lalit Sir. Some of the other appreciated programs were ‘Earth is our Home’ by our toddlers of Grade Prep, ‘Face off’ by Grade 9, ‘Namaste India’ by Grade 4, 6 and 8 and ‘Namami Gange’ by Grade 4. The Choir sang beautiful songs which made the atmosphere all the more melodious. Even though it was a 3 hours show but The Guests enjoyed the show thoroughly and not only of their kids but also of other kids. In this bitterly cold weather, the ceremony gave a warm feeling to all the Parents, students and Guests that Vidyatree Modern Family has the strength, unity and togtherness

Vidyatree Modern World College Celebrated its 36th Annual Concert on 11th October, 2015. As the school is affiliated with IB (International Baccalaureate), one of its vision is to inspire international- mindedness. To honour diverse cultures across the globe, the theme of the program was international dance forms. Dr. Abhishek Mishra, State minister, Vocational development and Skill development U.P. graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

On this occasion the school honoured meritorious students with scholarships. The Chief Guest of the program Dr. Abhishek Mishra motivated the students to dream big and work hard to chase it. He also told them to be a good son/daughter before aspiring any other passion. He told the parents not to ask the kids to follow their (parent’s) dream and give them the liberty to follow their own heart. He appreciated the school’s initiative to bring ‘International Baccalaureate’ to Lucknow.

The founder of the school, Mr. Rakesh Kapoor explained the parents the difference between imitation learning and real learning. He told that real learning occurs when knowledge is connected with evidences. He threw light on vision of the school to render its students an ‘Education for Life’. Director of International Education VMWC, Mr. Siddharth Kapoor presented a PowerPoint presentation showcasing the learning methodology and achievements of the school.

The program was concluded with vibrant performance of senior students on Spanish dance form ‘Flamenco’. It left the audience spell bound. The parents appreciated the efforts and energy put in each dance by the students and their mentors. Principal, Ms. Meena Kane congratulated the VMWC team for the wonderful show.
