“Grandparents are like God with silver in their hair and gold in their hearts.”
The grandparents are the precious stalwarts of our family and their role is unique in each one’s life, which is irreplaceable .There cannot be a better way of inculcating love and gratitude in the hearts of young generations for their grandparents than dedicating a day specially for them. As VMWC community recognizes and values the imperative role that the Grandparents play in the life of every child, the school celebrated ‘The Grandparents’ Day’ on August 27, 2018.
The celebration began with children clad in traditional attire welcoming the guests and greeting them with ‘Namaste’, followed by the school prayer and lighting of the lamp. This day is celebrated every year to honor the chairman of our school, Justice D.K.Trivedi as August 27 is his birthday.
The students enthralled the audiences by their mesmerizing dance performances. To show their grandparents how much they are inspired by their stories and are connected to their roots students performed dance drama on ‘The Ramayana’. The tiny tots sang beautiful poem and song to show their love and affection.
Special games were organized for the grandparents to participate and enjoy their special day. The most entertaining amongst them were the ‘Relationship game’ and ‘Word Antakshri’. It was an absolute joy to see the grandparents participate with such vigor and enthusiasm.
After this, Mr.Prasenjit Chakraborty, our principal spoke about the value and importance of grandparents in a family. Grandparents were very happy to witness this event and a few of them came forward and appreciated the program through short verses and words. At the end, children gave handmade ‘Origami’ to their grandparents as their token of love.
