VMWC celebrates Grandparents Day every year on 27th August on account of the birthday of Hon’ble Chief Justice (retd.) D. K. Trivedi who is the Chairman of the school’s Advisory council.
The grandparents were welcomed and escorted by the students with utmost care and respect to the auditorium. The event started with lighting of the lamp by the honorable chief guest Shri D.K. Trivedi and Principal Ms. Meena Kane along with the grandparents followed by prayer. The theme of the program was Janamashtami (Birth of Lord Krishna). Various programs were presented by students of nursery-V portraying life events of Lord Krishna including melodious bhajans. They also displayed their sensitivity towards environment through program ‘Agar ped bhi chalet hote‘. Tiny tots of the school flattered all Nanis by singing the song ‘Nani teri morni ko….’. The highlight of the program was a medley of popular Bollywood songs of 1960-70s which revived the memories and brought smile on faces of all the grandparents.
The program was successful in making the grandparents feel special.They appreciated efforts of the children wholeheartedly. It also reinforced the feeling of gratitude and respect for the grandparents in the impressionable young minds.
